Plot summary
Benj Nielsen enters high school with a plan to reinvent himself, and Bailey, a sophomore and close friend of his older sister Alyssa, is on his mind. Eddie and Connor also want to climb socially, and Danah "Koosh" Koushani, the group's rich friend, hopes to match the reputation of Kayvon, his popular older brother. Ruby, the senior who drives Benj's carpool, talks him into a drug sale scam that swaps vitamins for MDMA. Koosh gets the group invited to a back-to-school party hosted by Kayvon, who allows Koosh only one guest. Benj talks Eddie and Connor into sending him in instead, so he can be near Bailey.
