Plot summary

Jack and Layla's remote cattle farm survives on cloning in a future of scarce meat. A shrouded cloning tank stands in their work shed, which Jack says he uses for tests. Nightly storms cut the internet, and their son Toby boards at a school Layla longs to visit. Repainting Toby's room, she finds an older layer of blue paint beneath the off-white. One night an alarm sounds in the shed and Layla comes upon Jack lying injured on the ground; he says a spooked cow knocked him down. The next morning she hears a noise in the kitchen, takes the shotgun outside, and a woman who looks just like her attacks her.
