Plot summary
Driving through the British countryside, Susan North is blinded by the landing lights of a flying saucer and crashes. A nameless stranger walks up to the wreck and later appears at a country inn nearby. Dr. Meinard, a local, examines him and finds no pulse. Susan then walks in, dazed, her injuries from the crash almost healed, and the stranger announces that he comes from Venus. Arthur Walker, a high-ranking government official and Susan's fiancé, telephones the Ministry of War, and the government cordons off the area around the inn. Journalist Charles Dixon learns that the visitor speaks many human languages and that his civilization has studied Earth through radio broadcasts and television transmissions. When officials arrive at the inn, he outlines his purpose.

- In the US, Stranger from Venus was never given a cinema release: Flamingo Telefilm put it out on television only, as Immediate Disaster, because of a feared lawsuit from 20th Century Fox over its plot's closeness to Patricia Neal's earlier film The Day the Earth Stood Still, still in cinemas in 1954.
