Biography

Hugh Moxey was a British film and television actor whose working life in screen entertainment extended over a period of 40 years. He was born on 27 September 1909, and he was best remembered for the supporting roles he played in British war films of the 1950s. Among the classic titles from that period were The Dam Busters (1955) and Sink the Bismarck!, both of which placed him within stories of wartime action. His contributions in those and other productions were generally smaller parts rather than leading roles, and this pattern continued through the many film and television credits he accumulated over the course of four decades. He died in 1991.
