Plot summary
Linda's daughter has a pediatric feeding disorder: a feeding tube supplies nourishment at night, and Linda drives her to a hospital program each day. Linda works as a psychotherapist. Her husband, Charles, works away as a ship's captain. When the ceiling of their Montauk apartment collapses and floods it, Linda and her daughter move into a motel, where they meet Diana, a clerk, and Jamie, the superintendent.
