Plot summary
Beaty Simons earns her living as a prostitute and works at a London cabaret, the same venue where Emory Cole handles the sound and lighting. The two begin an affair there. They fall in love, and Emory grows increasingly uncomfortable with her work as a call girl. Beaty also shares custody of a young son. Her former lover Alex Denham, the father of the boy and recently out of prison, arrives needing somewhere to stay, and Beaty turns down his wish to pick up what they once had. Emory's friend Max comes to him wanting to cut him in on a drug deal.
