Plot summary
Kool studies Kenpo karate and wants to make it as a rap artist in Los Angeles. He is devoted to LaShawna, who is headed for college, and her mother Delores does not approve of the relationship. On his birthday the two celebrate, then Tyrel arrives to pull Kool away over trouble with Pee Wee, and LaShawna walks home by herself. On the way she sees an undercover officer meet with a man working for Saint, a major drug dealer; the meeting goes wrong and the officer is stabbed. She runs, is picked up, and is charged with murder. Eddy, a local officer, tells Kool the case belongs to Detective Tully, who agrees to a meeting. Tully cares about Saint's criminal empire, not about clearing LaShawna, and sends Kool in undercover.
