Plot summary
Q, Bishop, Raheem and Steel are four Harlem teenagers who skip school to hang out at Steel's apartment, an arcade, and a store where they lift records for Q's DJing. The police harass them, and so does a Puerto Rican gang led by Radames. Bishop, the group's leader, is the one with the gun, and he argues that the friends must do something bigger to earn respect. Q is unsure about a life of crime and wants to compete in a DJ competition he has wanted for years. Bishop keeps pressing him, and the group settles on robbing a convenience store owned by Fernando Quiles.

- Tupac Shakur only got the role of Roland Bishop because he tagged along to rapper Money-B's audition and asked producer Neal H. Moritz for a chance to read; after fifteen minutes to rehearse, he won the part, even though Daryl Mitchell, Treach, Money-B, and Donald Faison had all auditioned first.

The film was shot with an alternate ending in which Bishop, rather than accidentally losing his grip, deliberately lets go of Q's hand and falls to his death after hearing police sirens approaching, telling Q he "ain't going to jail."- Juice was the first acting job for all three of its young leads: the film marked the first acting roles for Omar Epps, Khalil Kain and Tupac Shakur.
- Long after its release the film left its mark on hip-hop: the late rapper Juice Wrld took his stage name from the movie.
