Plot summary
Sam and Ash make documentaries, and when video shot by Emily's friend Brian shows Emily interacting with a freestanding door in an abandoned building and then disappearing, Sam presses a reluctant Ash to investigate. On a visit to Emily's home, the two find unopened mail and a note in which she wrote about worrying for herself, and Ash is persuaded that Emily has really gone. They locate the door and carry it to Sam's flat. Brian warns them to leave it alone, likening it to hazardous sites designed to keep people out. When they open it, they see not a room but shifting, impossible phenomena, and start filming what appears.

- Graham Hughes, the film's director and writer, came up with Hostile Dimensions while developing a bigger film project with Blue Finch, the sales company of Hostile Dimensions, as a way of paving the way for that larger project.
- Hughes intended to keep the mockumentary format of his previous film, Death of a Vlogger, reuse its cast and crew and shoot most of Hostile Dimensions in his own flat, but wanting it to be different led to the portal-to-other-worlds idea.
