Plot summary
At a hospital in Chile, with an operation ahead of him, Peter Ingersoll explains how his condition came about. In California he works as an insurance salesman, and a doctor tells him that he is terminally ill. His wife, Nancy, encourages him to set out on an epic fishing excursion. Along the way the trip runs up $100,000 in credit card charges.
