Hollywood Stargirl (2022) on Netflix

Plot summary

Stargirl and her mother Ana leave Arizona for Los Angeles, where Ana has been hired as a costume designer on a feature whose director is difficult to work with. The long hours leave Stargirl on her own in their new apartment building, where she meets Evan. He and his older brother Terrell are assembling a sizzle reel for a film and ask her to write its music and perhaps act, though she has never acted. They take her to Forte, the bar where Terrell works, and she recognizes a regular the brothers call Table Six as Roxanne Martel, a one-hit singer who became a producer and owns the place. Stargirl asks Roxanne for permission to use the song "Miracle Mile" on the reel, and Roxanne refuses.
