Plot summary
Rashon 'Rush' Williams, a widower, hosts the top morning hip-hop show on Pittsburgh's WMLE, and his producer Roxy has him stick to the approved Christmas playlist while they prepare to ask for part ownership of the station. Malcolm tells them a national conglomerate, CamCom, has bought WMLE, and its vice president Joss announces a new pop format with a female DJ in Rush's place. At home, his four children and Aunt Jo are with him; his eldest, Jamal, is accepted to Harvard. Rush admits to Jo that he has no savings. Roxy proposes buying WBQL, an old station where they once worked that has been off the air. She offers her 401K, and Jo provides 45,000 in cash. Rush sells the house and the family moves into Jo's.
