Plot summary
Syd is a young editor at Frame, a respected photography magazine, and she lives with her boyfriend James. When water comes through her ceiling, she knocks on the door of the woman upstairs: Lucy Berliner, a one-time renowned photographer who left the art world and now shares her home with her girlfriend Greta and a group of hard-living friends. Syd keeps returning to that apartment, drawn to Lucy and to her earlier pictures. She mentions her neighbor at the office without knowing how famous she once was, and nobody there shows interest until her bosses grasp the truth. Lucy accepts a commission for the magazine on the condition that Syd edit her work, and the assignment gives her another chance at a career. Something grows between the two women as they work together.
