Hidden Fortress: The Last Princess (2008) on Netflix

Plot summary

Princess Yuki of the Akizuku clan and the retainer Rokurota survive their clan's defeat by the Yamana and take cover in a hidden fortress where the clan's gold treasury is kept. Two miners, Takezo and Shimpachi, who have escaped forced labor in a gold mine, come upon the hiding place by chance. Rokurota offers them a share of the gold if they help move it across Yamana territory, where Takayama Gyobu controls the roadblocks, and the group sets out disguised as firewood peddlers with the gold bars hidden inside the logs. Yuki travels dressed as a man, meeting toil and danger among commoners for the first time. Assassins pursue them as they move toward the domain of Hayakawa.
