Plot summary
Sandra is a single mother raising her two young daughters, Molly and Emma, after leaving an abusive husband. The three of them live in state-funded hotel accommodation. Sandra wants the girls to have a safe and happy home of their own, so she decides to build a house from scratch. She puts her ingenuity into the plan and brings together a community of helpers, among them a few new friends, to work on the build. The project gives her a purpose, and through it she recovers her sense of self.
