Plot summary
Newspaper reporter Amy Klein is handed a videotape by her boss, Charles Richmond, showing a cult ritual in which a woman is killed and then revived. Appalled but sensing a story, Amy travels to Bucharest and follows the tape's return address to an apartment, where she finds the sender, Marla, dead and holding the Lament Configuration, a puzzle box. Marla's recording warns against opening the box. Amy opens it anyway and sees Pinhead, who tells her she is in danger; she wakes as if from a dream. Her search then leads her through the city's underworld, where she meets Joey, who tells her to stop digging, and hears about a cult and its leader, Winter.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Hellraiser: Deader (2005)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Dimension Films hired Peter Briggs to write the seventh Hellraiser film after liking his unmade Freddy vs. Jason script, but his pitch, titled Hellraiser: Lament, was discarded for being too high budgeted, so the studio instead retooled Neil Marshall Stevens's unrelated spec script Deader, submitted in 2000 and once planned to be produced by Stan Winston.
- Tim Day wanted Hellraiser: Deader to be a direct sequel to Hellseeker with a final showdown between Pinhead, played by Doug Bradley, and Kirsty Cotton, played by Ashley Laurence, but Bob Weinstein ordered him to rewrite it as a Hellraiser sequel in the style of the Japanese horror films Ring and Pulse.
- Producers filmed Hellraiser: Deader back-to-back with another sequel, Hellraiser: Hellworld, in Romania between October and December 2002 to save costs, and the shoot was difficult because the American cast and crew could not understand the Romanian set workers and actors.
