Plot summary

The holidays are coming around again on Evergreen Lane, and Emily Melrose and Jared, who have spent the season together before, are doing so this time as a couple. Emily has come around to the festive spirit of the block, and she is ready to join Jared, Ned, Mary Louise and Pamela in work on Christmas celebrations finer than any the street has had. Being the girlfriend of the Evergreen Lane homeowners association president does not spare her the decorating citations that the residents of the block dread. A house nearby is put on the market, and the news stirs the neighbors.
