Plot summary
Christopher is a planner. Alex is not. A housing error places them in the same room at their Los Angeles college, a room Alex moved into a week early and has already filled with her belongings. He asks for another room, but the dorms are full, so he stays. Alex, a party girl from Park Avenue, shows little interest in classes and pulls him into whatever she is doing: a supermarket dinner of nibbles, a paint fight while scene painting, a game of naming musicals from love songs, a musical number on the roof. Christopher writes and Alex acts, and both are told their work is missing something. Alex tells him he needs a muse.
