Plot summary
Glauren has broken up with Ryan, who keeps calling her. She finally answers and tells him she is involved with a man named Hellboy, though she denies sleeping with him. Ryan goes to a coffee house, where Valo listens to his story. After attacking a customer he thinks is taunting him, Ryan offers Valo and Falcone a hundred dollars each to vandalize Glauren's house. Falcone wants the cash for Freon, needed to finish the Reverse Microwave he is working on for the Invention of the Future contest. Valo suggests Ryan meet other women, and the one he approaches jams a fork into his eye, which leaves him wearing an eyepatch while it heals.
