Plot summary
Brazos Kane quits gunfighting after he is made to shoot his best friend, and he rides to the Inskip ranch to hire on as a cowhand with his friend Bob Tyrell. Near the ranch he hears a gunshot and sees two riders leave, and he finds Tyrell dead. He brings the body to the Banner ranch, the biggest spread in the territory, and Banner accuses him of the murder. Banner's daughter Jane takes his side and sends word to Inskip.
