Plot summary

The Guardians of the Galaxy have settled at their new headquarters on Knowhere when Adam Warlock, a warrior made by High Priestess Ayesha, attacks them. He critically wounds Rocket, and the med-packs cannot heal him because Orgocorp put a kill switch inside his body. To find the override code, Peter Quill and the others head for Orgocorp's headquarters, joined by an alternate version of Gamora who now runs with the Ravagers. As Rocket's condition worsens, he remembers his early life as a baby raccoon taken and experimented on by the High Evolutionary, the leader of Orgocorp, who wanted to turn animal lifeforms into Humanimals for a society he called Counter-Earth. Ayesha and Adam follow the Guardians, under threat from the High Evolutionary.
