Plot summary
A hurricane is closing in on Grand Isle, Louisiana, and the news carries word of missing teenage boys. Buddy, a young father short of money, takes a fencing job at a house in town that has been in Fancy's family for generations, where she lives with her husband Walt. Walt pays him more than his price to finish the same day, and Fancy flirts with him. When the storm arrives and his truck will not start, she invites him to dinner and shows him the house, though the locks on the basement door go unexplained. Fancy tells him she could not have children but wanted them very much.
