Plot summary
Dexter Reed, a high school student looking forward to a relaxing summer, borrows his mother's car while she is away and is involved in a crash with his teacher, Mr. Wheat. With no license and no insurance, he agrees to pay for the repairs rather than face the police, and the debt sends him looking for a summer job. After clashing with Kurt Bozwell, the owner of the new Mondo Burger, he is taken on at Good Burger as a delivery boy. There he meets Ed, the well-meaning cashier, and the rest of the crew. Mondo Burger opens with oversized burgers, Good Burger loses customers, and Dexter notices the appeal of a sauce Ed makes for his lunch.
