Plot summary
Beneath the New Mexico desert, a top-secret government facility is building the first space station, and the computer NOVAC coordinates all the equipment inside the underground complex. When scientists at the site begin dying in unexplained malfunctions, the Office of Scientific Investigation sends Dr. David Sheppard from Washington, D.C. He joins Joanna Merritt, an OSI agent already stationed at the facility, and the two of them determine that the deaths among the laboratory's 150 scientists are the result of sabotage of NOVAC. Dr. Van Ness is the site director. Dr. Zeitman designed the computer, and Major Howard is the complex's Chief of Security.
