Plot summary
Mavis Arden is a movie star with a public name for purity and a private taste for romance. She is involved with a politician and expects to see him again later on her tour. Driving home from a personal appearance, her Rolls-Royce breaks down and leaves her stranded in a rural town. Her manager books her into a local boarding house, where the other guests include a landlady, an old maid and a film-struck waitress. There she meets Bud Norton, the young mechanic who repairs her car.
