Plot summary
Katelin Kingsford is a teenage figure skater who dreams of becoming a champion. A competition brings her to the notice of Natasha Goberman, a famous Russian coach at an expensive boarding school. Katelin's parents cannot pay for it. Natasha persuades the girls hockey team's coach to give Katelin the last scholarship, and Katelin enrolls to study and train with her. Katelin is glad, but hockey practice, skate club practice and homework are hard to balance. Spencer, a student assistant coach, mocks her, and the other skaters keep their distance. Her roommate, Amy 'Hollywood' Henderson, plays hockey too.
