Plot summary
A group of preteen friends from the same neighborhood meets in the local woods one Saturday afternoon for a game of capture the flag. A simple set of rules governs the contest. Their surroundings take on new meaning as their imaginations run wild: sticks serve as rifles, slingshots as crossbows, trees as control towers, and the woods around them as a warzone. P.K., Kwon, Skinner, Quinn, Jess, Frost, Sikorski, Joker, Wesley, Caleb and Scott are among those taking part. As the afternoon goes on, the make-believe combat blurs with the real world, and the friendships among the players come under strain.
