Plot summary
Shot in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at the Meadowlands Arena, during the summer 2011 North American leg of the Glee Live! In Concert! tour, the concert mixes songs from the television series' first two seasons, among them numbers led by Rachel, Finn, Kurt, Mercedes, Santana, Brittany, Artie, Puck, Quinn, Sam, Tina and Blaine, with backstage footage and the stories of young fans. Trenton, a gay teenager, Josey Pickering, who has Asperger syndrome, and Janae, a cheerleader of short stature, describe what the series has meant in their lives. A group of Dalton Academy Warblers joins Blaine for three songs, and because the tour reached only a handful of cities, the concert was filmed for the fans who could not attend.

- The live 3D shoot for Glee: The 3D Concert Movie used CPG's mobile production truck, upgraded with a Kayenne Video Production Center switcher so line cuts could be made live during the performances; CPG CEO Vince Pace said handling the cameras in a live production environment was the biggest challenge overcome.
- Glee: The 3D Concert Movie was the final film role for Cory Monteith, who played Finn, and Mark Salling, who played Puck; Monteith died in July 2013 and Salling in January 2018.
