Plot summary
Jean's drinking has gotten out of hand, and her son John, who drives a taxi in Dublin, finds her unconscious in her own vomit and takes her to a hospital, where she recovers until the next time she drinks. John looks for work, spends time with his friend Shane, drives sex workers around the city, and visits Kit, his younger brother, who has Down syndrome, at the care facility where he stays. John clears the house of alcohol and asks Jean to stop, but she screams at him and breaks dishes while he records her on video. When she disappears, he searches for her and finds her drunk on the doorstep.
