Beginning in 1974, he voiced Scrooge McDuck in Disney projects, including Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983) and the series DuckTales, and he voiced Hiram Flaversham in The Great Mouse Detective (1986). He also played Farmer Smurf on The Smurfs and had later roles in Beverly Hills Cop III and stage productions. He died in 2016.
