Plot summary
Garfield lives in Toon World with Odie and their owner, Jon Arbuckle, and works at Comic Studios, where the comic strips are made. Bored by the same old jokes, he wants a change. Odie hides the bone his strip calls for, and it passes through the studio screen. Eli, the head technician, says the screen divides the two worlds with no way back, and he seals its border with tape. Garfield crosses over unnoticed, and Odie follows before the patch closes. In the real world, Garfield meets Shecky, an alley cat who wants to be a star.
