Plot summary

Amanda, a college student, takes an evening babysitting job at the Lloyd house, looking after the child, Tara, while Helen and Jim go out. She notices how many locks are fitted to the front door. Making tea in the kitchen, she is watched through the window by a man, and odd noises and the doorbell follow. Her boyfriend Chris arrives and tells her that Helen and Jim are not married, and that Helen's husband was placed in a psychiatric institution after he tried to kill her. A telephone call from Helen at the restaurant interrupts them, and Amanda sends Chris away. The child's father, Brian, has escaped from the institution where he was held.
