Plot summary
A party in Los Angeles ends with three women dead and Frannie Scott struck down by a truck, and the police blame Jerry Zipkin, the friend who tried to stop him. Frannie had lost all his hair and hid it under a wig his friends knew nothing about. On the run, Jerry gets help from surgeon David Blume and his girlfriend Alicia Sweeney, and reads of a bald police officer who killed his family. Ed Flemming, a local politician running for Congress, is divorced from Wendy, who has also been losing her hair and suffering migraines. Jerry wants to clear his name, and the attacks appear tied to Blue Sunshine, a form of LSD taken ten years earlier.
