Plot summary
At the Tower Mountain Research Station, deep in the Arctic Circle, a severe snow storm has cut the base's radio contact with the summit for five days. Dr. Vogel, the researcher stationed there, is the man the base has been unable to reach, and his last transmissions sounded confused, anxious and delirious. Fearing for his safety, the base flies two replacement scientists, Robert Jones and Frank Enari, up by helicopter. They are to continue the station's study of primate behavior, and a chimpanzee comes with them for the cold weather tests. Inside, the rooms have been ransacked, and Dr. Vogel is not there.
