Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Toolbox Murders (1978)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- According to journalist Linda Gross, the screenplay for The Toolbox Murders was loosely based on a string of serial killings in Minnesota, in which a man attacked women using various tools.
SPOILER
Wesley Eure was cast as Kent, Vance's nephew, who turns out to be an accomplice to his uncle's killings. Eure, whose series Land of the Lost had just been canceled, said he took the part because he was tired of "goody-goody roles" and of "running from dinosaurs."- The Toolbox Murders gained a cult following in the decades after its release, and author Stephen King cited it as one of his favorite horror films.
