Brook Williams
Biography
Brook Williams was an actor whose career took in London theater, repertory work and more than a hundred films, most of them cameo parts. Born in 1938, he was the younger son of the actor and playwright Emlyn Williams, and as a boy he came to know Richard Burton, whose personal assistant, advisor and collaborator he later became. Following RAF service, he worked in repertory theater, and his West End debut came in 1958. Two years later he appeared with Donald Sinden in Terence Rattigan's musical version of French Without Tears, called Joie de Vivre. Critics praised his performance in his father's play The Corn is Green, and he later toured South Africa with Peter Shaffer's Five Finger Exercise. His screen credits included Cleopatra (1963), The Heroes of Telemark (1965), Absolution (1978), The Medusa Touch (1978), The Sea Wolves (1980) and Wagner (1981). He died in 2005.
