Plot summary
Kevin, Sam and Rob, friends in Toronto, share a pastime they call Foolproof: they draw up detailed plans to rob banks and warehouses, matching the equipment and layout of the target, and never carry the plans out. Their rules bar firearms and violence. Someone takes their plan for a jewelry warehouse from Sam's apartment, and the warehouse is robbed. The culprit introduces himself as Leo Gillette, a thief nicknamed The Touch who has never been convicted. He says the break-in was no accident, and that he wants them to plan and execute a $20 million bond theft for him. He holds evidence tying them to the warehouse job, which leaves them little choice.
