Andre Shame left the Los Angeles police force in disgrace after a raid in Mexico on drug lord Ernesto Mendoza went wrong, leaving other detectives dead. He now works as a private investigator with his assistant, Peaches Jordan, and the firm is barely staying open. Sonny Rothmiller, once Shame's colleague and now with the DEA, says Mendoza is alive and hires Shame to find Angela, the witness prepared to testify against him. Angela has walked out of witness protection in New York and is somewhere in Los Angeles.
