Plot summary
Francis, a cynical house cat, and his owner Gustav Löbel, a romance novelist and archeologist, move into a run-down building whose top floor smells of chemicals. While exploring, he comes upon a dead cat with a fatal bite in its neck, then befriends Bluebeard, a mutilated Maine Coon with one eye. After a second corpse appears, Francis learns that the top floor is where a sect of cats under Joker gathers to worship an entity named Claudandus. The sect chases him across the rooftops, and he gets away through a skylight, where he meets Felicity, a blind cat who tells him about the group.
