Plot summary
Harold Horne is an ambitious shoe salesman in Honolulu. When he meets Barbara, he takes her for his boss's daughter and claims to be a millionaire leather tycoon. Barbara actually works as the boss's secretary. Keeping the truth from her means hiding his real circumstances in the shoe store, and when he later becomes an accidental stowaway aboard a ship, he stays out of the crew's way too.

- The impression of height in the skyscraper climax was created with a façade built on the roof of the Southern California Gas Company building at 848 South Broadway in Los Angeles, the same trick Harold Lloyd had used for Safety Last! just a few blocks away.
- For the 1960s rerelease in Harold Lloyd's World of Comedy, Harold Lloyd added a dramatic underscore by Walter Scharf to the climb sequence; the scene had no music at all in the original release.
- When Time-Life used the film in its Harold Lloyd's World of Comedy television series in the 1970s, the soundtrack was stripped from the Feet First segments because most of the series' clips came from silent films.
- Barbara Kent was Harold Lloyd's leading lady here for the second time, and it was the last occasion on which he ever appeared with the same leading lady.
