Plot summary
Al and Sue want their son to move out. Tripp is 35, has a job he likes, a sailboat he is saving for, and friends Demo and Ace who also live at home, but he has stayed in his Baltimore home with no plans to go. Tripp dates casually, and each girlfriend ends things once she learns he still lives at home. Friends of Al and Sue mention hiring an expert to move their grown son out. Al and Sue turn to Paula, an interventionist who builds a man's confidence until he leaves home and attaches to her. Paula arranges a chance meeting so Tripp asks her out, and finds he does not fit her earlier clients: he has a job he enjoys and good self-esteem. Tripp does not know his parents hired her.
