Exile (2023) on Netflix

Plot summary

Ted Evans finishes a five-year prison sentence for a drunk driving crash that killed most of a family. Before he is released, the crash's lone survivor tells him that if he makes contact with his wife and daughter, they will be killed. Ted believes the warning and exiles himself to a remote forest cabin, where he cuts off his phone and turns away visitors. His wife, Sara, does not accept that the danger is real; she thinks the threat grew out of his guilt. She hires a private investigator to find him, determined to bring him home and put the family back together.
