Plot summary
Tarrell is a painter with a wife, Aisha, and a young son, Jermaine, and he is close to his mother, Joyce. His father, La'Ron, has come back into his life, and Tarrell is bitter about their strained relationship. La'Ron has taken on a new Christian identity and is recovering from addiction. Joyce, a devout Christian, urges her son to forgive his father, citing a portion of the New Testament. The story shows La'Ron's stern and abusive behavior toward Tarrell and Joyce when Tarrell was a boy.
