Plot summary
Ennio Morricone spent his life writing music for the screen, and this portrait follows him from his early work to the Academy Award he received for The Hateful Eight in 2016. Interviews with directors, screenwriters, musicians, songwriters and critics who collaborated with him or followed his career sit alongside recordings from his concert tours, clips from films built on his scores, and footage of the places that shaped him. Morricone himself appears, and the film covers a body of work running to more than five hundred scores, among them the Westerns of Sergio Leone, and a reputation that spread well beyond Italy.
