Elodie (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

Sabrina Stone feels like a supporting character in her own life. She has written a play about Elodie, a heroine who is confident and adored, and Sabrina wants the same respect as a playwright and a stage performer. Offered the chance to present her work to a large audience, she falls apart under the strain of the moment and embarrasses both herself and the people around her. Her private troubles then start to echo the ones she invented for her script, and Elodie appears, carrying Sabrina into the strange world of her own writing. There she has to find her way through the place she made, rescue the characters from the difficulties she handed them, and work out who she wants to be.
