Plot summary
The invasion was over in a flash. Ships now hang in the sky for miles in every direction, smoke and fire below them. Those ships reap the Earth of its resources, and drones patrol the ruined cities, taking out whatever they judge to be a threat. Survivors band together where they can, trying to recover some version of the life they had before. In Los Angeles a small team of scientists is holed up, and it is what remains to oppose the drones. Their aim is to drive the drones off and bring down the motherships that hang over the city.
