Plot summary
The docufiction interweaves two strands. One uses computer imagery to show dragons in their natural habitats across history, from a Cretaceous species to the Chinese forest dragon and the mountain dragon, treated as a scientifically feasible reptile. The other strand follows Dr. Jack Tanner, an American paleontologist at the Natural History Museum in London. His theory that a displayed Tyrannosaurus rex was killed by a prehistoric dragon damages his standing among his peers. When a frozen body of an unknown creature turns up in the Carpathian Mountains, along with carbonized human remains, Tanner and two museum colleagues travel to inspect the specimen in a warehouse and set about determining how it lived.
