Plot summary

Richard Jacks is a perfumer at a fragrance company whose scents keep failing. Mrs. Unterveldt, the chief executive, rejects his newest perfume and says a woman should develop it. When his great-uncle dies, Richard attends the reading of the will and comes away with nothing but old notes from experiments. The papers show that his great-grandfather was Dr. Henry Jekyll. Richard decides to improve his ancestor's formula with estrogen and drinks the result, but the night passes with no change. During an interview at a restaurant, his features turn feminine, and he flees back to his laboratory, where a mirror confirms the change. His co-worker Pete Walston finds a woman in the laboratory shower, and she presents herself to the office as Helen Hyde, Richard's new assistant, flirting with his superiors Oliver Mintz and Yves Dubois.
