Plot summary
On Broadway, the producer Danny Miller is rehearsing a musical farce in which the Muses chase two pilots whose plane came down on Mount Parnassus. Terpsichore, one of the Nine Muses of Olympus, objects to how the show portrays her and her sisters and asks Mr. Jordan for permission to go to Earth. He agrees and sends Messenger 7013 to watch her. She takes the name Kitty Pendleton, obtains an agent, Max Corkle, and gets a part in the production. At rehearsals she tells Danny that the show has the Muses wrong, and Danny, who has fallen for her, comes around to her view and begins reworking the material.
