Plot summary
Carol is dying, and her sons have no money to look after her. Seventeen-year-old Matt takes his younger brother Joey to a house being fumigated and sends him inside to rob it. A security guard, Dave Hamby, spots the boys and chases them into the forest, where he falls into an abandoned well. Matt wants to leave him down there so he cannot report them to the police. Joey feels guilty instead and starts taking water, food and a sleeping bag to the man in the hole. When Matt discovers the visits, the brothers clash over the man in the hole.
